Trump's executive order outlines two separate components: the strategic BTC reserve and the crypto asset reserve.
The BTC reserve will be capitalized by Bitcoin owned by the federal government, which has been confiscated in the course of criminal or civil asset forfeiture proceedings.
The digital asset reserve will consist of alternative BTC digital assets confiscated during criminal or civil proceedings.
Essentially, the U.S. government will not be acquiring additional assets for the Bitcoin reserve — which the market is responding to with a local pullback.
However, the question of using government funds will be explored only if neutral, budget-friendly methods can be found to achieve this.
What do neutral strategies for the U.S. Bitcoin purchase plan in the future entail?
✅Continued confiscation of crypto assets from criminals/hackers;
✅Adequate diversification from other valuable assets, such as selling gold to purchase BTC;
✅Use of other tax revenues;
✅Utilizing existing underused computing resources or energy for Bitcoin mining.
